Sweden vs Germany: The pointless match that matters


 If you’re wondering why of all the make-or-break world cup qualifying matches I chose the one that’s least meaningful, you’re probably not alone. And you’re probably not  wrong, either. Finishing at the top of Group C, Germany is bound to be more busy planning their trip to Brazil than crafting a team against Sweden, who also have little to worry about after Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s decisive goal against Austria that sent them to the play-offs. Another reason why this match might be at the bottom of every neutral fan’s list is Zlatan’s suspension, which undeniably makes it more difficult to take Sweden seriously against the undefeated Germany. 

Germany coach Joachim Low will take this opportunity to experiment with his bench squad while reserving the superstars we all love to watch. 

So now that all reasons why you shouldn’t watch this match are out of the way, let’s watch the reason why you should:
